We start off this week’s show with our Artist of the Month for June ( a preview) Chuck Prophet. Chuck Prophet is a singer-songwriter in the Dylan tradition who writes songs about the environment, war, relationships and love, childhood, and other topics that Psych ‘n’ Roll Radio highlights. The song you listened to at the opening is about holding on during difficult times: relationship, medical , financial, and emotional challenges. “Life is a river” as Chuck sings and he’s decided to hold on through its twists and turns. I don’t know about you, but I admire those among us who can hold on through difficult times, hold on to marriage when stress and life pressures challenge; hold on through difficult medical treatments in order to heal and enjoy life again; hold on when financial woes create dislocation and pain and to start all over on a path to recovery. Isn’t that what recovery is about? All of you 12-steppers know what I mean. It’s about holding on. Holding on to your own self. Holding on to hope and inspiration. Holding on to the people who love you and who you love in return. Psych ‘n’ Rollers out there let us know what challenges you are having and how you are holding on. If you need assistance ask us for help and we’ll gladly guide you in holding on. Send us the music that has helped you hold on during your life challenges. We continue with the following musical set:
Next Week is the Memorial Day holiday week and I will be on vacation. See you On June 4th. Until then let’s all hold on.
